So many traveling brochures with dozens of gorgeous looking places to visit, a lot of offers with God-knows how many special prices and bonuses included, fancy dinners, fancy massage sessions, fancy everything. Do not feel uneasy (…), undecided. Spain is that simplicity you always looked for, yet always shadowed by flashy offers. Take a moment to just look at the photos of this surreal land. Watch the waves of the seas surrounding it just slowly reaching the shores, the humming of birds floating freely above your head, feel the beautiful blue, the shining sun reaching into your heart. The El Codolar beach lies just behind the ancient walls, being one of the most popular places in Tossa del Mar. It looks like a private secluded beach and it lies under a tower named Torre de Codolar. It is the single tower out of the three whose name was not changed. The size of the beach is very modest, having a width of 70 meters and a length of 80 meters. You can find a bar nearby and various beach equipments that you can rent.

Gran Teatre del Liceu is the opera house in Barcelona, founded in 1847 and then again in the year 2000, after falling prey to a devastating fire. In its first decades of operation, El Liceu was the logo of Barcelona’s bourgeoisie, repeatedly drawing the angry eyes of the proletariat. Its original plan was inspired from Scala of Milano, numbering a seat capacity of 4000.

Las Ramblas is the name of a 2 km long boulevard leading to Plaza de Catalunya (the central square of Barcelona) and all down to the statue of Christopher Columbus.

Its name comes from the Arab word Rambla, meaning the bed of a dry river. The wall that used to surround Barcelona in the XVIII century stands on the left side of a similar river. In time, the river bed was leveled down, the defense wall destroyed and thus La Rambla became a modern boulevard shadowed by trees and sided by imposing buildings.

The Montserat Monastery can be found 50 km north-west of Barcelona, in the mountains bearing the same name, at an altitude of 1241 meters. You can take on the A2 highway towards Martorell in Barcelona and then head on the C 1411 via Olesa towards Monistrol to reach it.

This monastery is one of the most important pilgrimage places in Spain, among Zaragoza and Santiago de Compostela. Thousands of pilgrims come visiting this place every year to touch and see the medieval statue of Virgin La Moreneta (The Black Virgin), considered as the patron saint of Catalonia. You can still find in service today the church music school of Escolania founded in the XV century. Its students chant Ave Maria at 13:00 p.m. and also the vespers.
